A good point, but one slightly off the thread that I was aiming for.

A poor NCO I think will still make a poor Officer, regardless of length of IOT.

The one Officer we do have that did the quick WO course was a good guy before he went, and has remained so. Can't think of any good NCO's that did the long course that have turned out bad Officers, and likewise can't think of any bad NCO's that have become good Officers after the long course!!

My whole point of at the beginning of this topic was do AA have to do the WHOLE IOT, or could we not do the bits that we are lacking in. All of us have carried pine poles (and proper pine poles!!!) up and down the Dales and Otterburn, built tripods to get that radioactive drum from the centre of that white circle, have given briefs, used SMEAC and all the other bits and pieces that make up AAITC. Together with our general Service knowledge and experience surely this must count for something. Why not do a tailored course that would concentrate on all the aspects we need?

I know I'll not change the system, but just was interested in different views.

See you on the Sqn mate, and I'll have a beer!
