BWAHAHAHAHA. Nope. Definitely not true- at least the bit about pilots not doing it anymore.
The F/As have certainly had a few bits of comms from the company requesting information but I'm not 100% sure about when/ what they were supposed to report.
As to that causing me to stop making the PA? Pfft. Apart from the bizzo about the web site, the PA itself isn't that different to other PAs that I've made over the years.
I made mine just after we pulled onto the gate so it was the last thing the pax would hear before they disembarked. Perhaps prior to push back is going to be the best place.
