Just to let you know how I'm getting on. Turkish Embassy about as useful as poking a dead badger with a stick. Then decided to try calling the Dalaman airport Passport Control. Well, I got through and the gentleman I spoke to said that there is no problem as long as I pay for the £10 visa and leave on the flight I'm booked on. When I asked for his name, he just said, Passport control officer and left it at that.
Well, I've decided to go for it and if I have to pay to fly home, then so be it!!
Will let you all know how I get on.
