I met your Godfather in Cape Town in February 2009 at
this event (See post 44) organised by the
Guild of Air Pilots, of which he has been a member for almost 50 years. A splendid character! There are some pictures of him
here and
here. He had fallen and broken his ankle earlier in the day, but he didn't allow that to prevent him attending! He was about 88 at the time - I hope he's still going strong.
