Well I am sure it has been said before, but it is for two reasons in my opinion.
The root is that people who book with FR for the first time (and sometimes second and third time
) assume that it operates like the other airlines and don't read all the Ts&Cs, so then they get caught out with loads of extra charges or flying to the wrong airport (Booked PIK thinking it was GLA for example) and complain. FR has done nothing wrong, the PAX has, but they still complain anyway.
Then there is the double whammy. Loads of other people who have never even flown FR jump on the bandwagon and start slagging them off with second hand stories and repeating rubbish they have read in the press. BTW - the press are some of the worst culprits for mis-information about FR.
My message to these idiots is simple. If you can't travel within the "system" created by FR then choose another carrier. But please "shut up" and stop spoiling it for the rest of us.
