In the airline / commercial field I cant help feeling that you need to cultivate a bull!!!!! filter so you can tune out a lot of the cr*p and not let it get to you.

Also, remember there is a life outside aviation - even after many years I have a passion for flying but you need something else to maintain your sanity.
As has been said before, keeping in touch with the grass roots of flying is a reality check for many. Give me a light a/c with a half million map on a nice day from the local airfield away from all the banal security checks any day!
