If you believe there is a mis match as you say then simply get your Adj to access the individuals JPA account and check the leave applied for against your stats/leave book etc.
Sorry, were you being ironic here? It's difficult to tell. I ought to be able to monitor my people's applications for leave from the primary legal source
ie JPA. In practice, as you suggest, most units maintain separate records (usually on an Excel spreadsheet); add to that the Outlook records that so many of us are chained to, and you have 3 layers of record keeping, none of which are fit for purpose:
Outlook doesn't present the data in a useable way and it's not a legal record.
Most Excel spreadsheets are easy to view, but not easy to maintain properly, and they aren't legal docs.
JPA is a legal record, but, requires specialist staff to extract info from.
