Help my computer to make noise!
Long story short, I got a new motherboard to replace a duff one - new model because the dead one is no longer available. Rebuilding the machine and everything is fine except for the audio - everything looks like it's working but there's no sound coming out!
Any ideas gratefully received.
Mobo is ASUS Sabertooth X58 running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
It has an on-board sound card, a Realtek HD chip - I've not come across one of these before but I've set it to AC'97 in the BIOS because I don't have any special sound hardware.
Unlike other Realtek stuff I've seen the new board doesn't seem to detect when something is plugged into one of the jacks.
Speakers are plugged into the default jack and levels are set appropriately but no sound comes out.
Any ideas welcomed.
