To fly at level flight for 50 miles at low altitude no matter what it is is always very fuel consuming as opposed to a constant descent approach... and very expensive with todays fuel prices. Is that a "green" way to do it?? I don't think so. I do fly quite a lot to and from OSL and do not say any point in doing this, except to severly increase cost, "time and fuel" for the airlines.
