Seen G-STBA in the flesh today for the first time...most impressive. Got me thinking about the remaining 747 replacement, and whether the 77W has any real competition.

It looks like the A350-1000 is not going to match the 77W in terms of outright capability, not to mention the 777NG is also in the works somewhere. So BA can buy additional 77Ws now, and harvest the benefit for the next 10 years...thereafter the 777NG may come into play, or the A350-1000'ER' might be in contention. So when will we see additional 77Ws ordered? And in what numbers?

The bigger question is whether the A358 / A359 will replace the 772ERs...or will the 787-9 / 787-10 fit the bill?
