Does anyone possess a copy of Derek Collier Webb's 'UK Flight Testing Accidents 1940-1971' published by Air-Britain?
There is none on Amazon, EBay and famous name bookshops in the UK seem to have none on the shelves.
I am researching the demise of a German Arado Ar196 float plane which crashed on 'landing' at Loch Gare, Helensburgh, Scotland, on 28.4.1940 This accident is covered in Derek's book and I am desperately interested in one certain aspect of this aircraft.
The RAF Museum Archives, The National Archive, The Norway Air Museum, and various WWII website forums, although recording the incident and other detailed information, have all proved negative so far. Unbelievably, the original 4 digit/letters German registration codes which were painted over by the Norwegians when it was captured, are not recorded.
I would like to know what Derek Collier Webb says of the aircraft. Can anyone help please?
