Not that difficult to position an aircraft to these Northern "outposts" if needed, and not a huge amount extra to the cost.
Aircraft based at Liverpool, Chester and Glasgow would be decent options for most.
Don't forget that these regions are probably now better served by scheduled carriers to more destinations than a few years ago.
I do think that if there were money to be made, someone would be doing it already. Lots of reputable companies have gone under trying.
