From the start of the drift down till the end you will burn a lot of fuel (remaining engine/s at MCT) and will take a long time (an hour or so from the typical cruising levels).
I doubt you'll achieve
a nice gentle driftdown in a busy ATC environment. You'll have to either divert off the airway system, or just carry out a normal descent to whatever level you can maintain.
