I suspect that Len did not know at that point how badly arranged the membership records were. BA could tell BASSA how many subs were collected last month on their behalf (why they would want to be so helpful I don't know) but to sort out Amicus members requires more effort. Every set of subs that was not received last month seems to require a letter to ensure that the person no longer wants to be a member and that they haven't just forgotten to pay (had one of those myself). Could be a while yet!
