Since BA lost interest in Glasgow long ago we now use KLM/Emirates/Continental for our connections.
Emirates in particular has most of the Australian business nowadays.
Not sure what your point is, BA connections are there as they've always been over LHR. Scotland-Australia with EK is a no brainer as it's one stop versus at least two with BA / QF over LHR. Indeed the only non stop international routes ever operated from Glasgow since 1990 with BA were Paris and New York, both long gone. It's a myth that BA had much of a network out of GLA, they shuttled people to BHX/MAN/GLA, never direct.
Was sitting in the old shuttle lounge this afternoon waiting to board the BA1493 looking at the peeling "To Fly, To Serve" stickers on the windows. They've been coming off for years but no one's ever thought to clean the windows....which is odd given that it's a pre 1997 branding!
