Please don't forget that those of us to the south also need connections; and connecting via Madrid is not necessarily convenient. BA moving its Malaga flights to Gatwick, this means a trip around the M25 if I want to continue flying BA or any other LHR carrier; as most of my business is to the East, it's either this; an additional connecting flight via Madrid to get to Heathrow or switch my business to Lufthansa. At the moment I'm making the most of BA and it's connections via Heathrow until the new summer time table kicks in.
