Malta/2010/QR

2010 pax try post 3810 - 2010 8563921 -5.8%

QR - Despite several new 77W's delivered during 2010 they are short of aircraft and although they have and will be opening new European routes with a mix of A319/A332's thus far they have also gone for upgrading existing A319 flights to A332's such as BCN & ARN. These A332's have then been replaced by the new 77W's.

Therefore you would think in the short-term it is unlikely but several credible sources claim BHX will be one of next UK services (possible after EDI) but they have not been daft enough to give a time-scale.

The other way to look at it is that BHX is not filling its two Emirates
flights at present so it might not be the right time for another ME carrier.
Although as I have said countless times QR would have the opportunity
to connect any BHX flight with Doha - Amritsar which is now daily. However that would probably see off Mahan Air or Turkmenistan. Probably not both as their should be a market for the price sensitive pax for one of them.

Malta

Now released Mon 0730/1455 and Friday 1605/2330 summer 2011.

A few other time changes but nothing significant with at least one gap each day in the schedule other than Sunday.

Slight correction to the other day, Porto remains in the drop-down
although not on the opening page, so does Dinard (finished 2 years
ago, Perpignan and Prague).
