Personally I think we should realise the limitations of the HK legal system and fight the battles we know we can win. That is, outside of Hong Kong. The on-shoring process has now exposed Cathay to both the Australian and Canadian legal systems, where rest assured the public interest is exactly that, not the interests of big business and the taipans. The bypass pay case and the 49ers were well fought by the guys concerned and my hats off to those that had the guts to stand up in court against an organisation like Cathay/Swire. However...a familiar pattern has emerged. We win in a lower court and then during the appeal the case is overturned or damages are reduced significantly. I suggest a better strategy is to fight future battles in Australia and Canada first before we try to win in Hong Kong.
