Its tall to do with passing the line training and getting hours on type, otherwise its pointless because each airliner has different SOP's which you have to preform to.

If you just have a type rating that is 2 years old with no hours on type and you do not preform to there SOP's training standards on type, without retraining, how likely are you going to stand out from the crowed?

I understand that Airbus is the most costly.

What about an A380 type rating?
What about MD-80? thinking outside the box.

If you could get hours these bigger types you can always then be in the driving seat for a B737 or A320 job.
