I think BHX has time to prepare, but they actually need to start preparations.
EK wont send an A380 to BHX until at LEAST 2012, so thats just over a year to make any modifications.
Anyway, whats happening with the ever shrinking FR presence at BHX. I wonder if its time for a complete re-shuffle, get rid of FR and work damn hard at attracting someone like jet2 or easyjet.
Easyjet have no midlands presence, and im sure if BHX offered the same rates to EZY as they do FR, they could be persuaded.
With BHX having some good charter connections as well as scheduled, im sure jet2 could find a good niche of holiday/city routes, as surely this will be better than a shakey performance from FR at the least.
