Trondheim Værnes Airport could soon become the northernmost in the entire Ryanair network, according to sources from Norway.
Avinor (the airport authority) has received a letter from Ryanair that they are planning a major offensive in the Scandinavian market over the next few years and want to discuss the possibility of starting flights to Værnes as early as April next year. They hope to get an agreement with the Airport very soon.
Avinor responded that they are working to rise the amount of direct routes to and from Trondheim and Trøndelag, and that the request from Ryanair is very interesting. There's one catch, though. Avinor has sent Ryanair a list of prices that airlines must pay to fly from Værnes hinting it will be ready to arrange a meeting with the airline only if the carrier agrees to these terms.
