Well, up to this time, it doesn't seem to think it's a local drive. However, the software may well be trying to achieve Seagate's goals, and messing things up as it does so.
I did uninstall it (2 sets) once, and didn't notice a jot of difference. Black Armor Discovery, and Black Armor Backup seem to be two distinctly different programs, yet on one screen, they are both shown on the rather smart menu. Even after re-installation, and a loooooong period of auto-backup, the disc still showed 100% black in their posh display - neither data, or storage availability.
I'm loath to scrap the photos, and don't like losing, so maybe I'll do what you suggest and keep an eye on the forums ongoing suggestions. Mind you, it's already getting a bit long in the tooth, hence the price.
