Flapless in the 146/RJ is indeed no big deal. In my eight years on type, I had two or three or four (it was such a non-event that I can’t remember just how many).
But what doesn’t impress me is the laissez-fair attitude of the successive crews who didn’t insist on a proper investigation. One of ours had a (parallel) short history of pressurisation failures. When it happened to me, I decided that enough was enough – and so did my fleet manager. So it was taken out of service and FIXED PROPERLY.
