After 17 years off I could have just slung myself in a PA28 with an examiner if I felt confident/stoopid enough, with no training whatsoever
As it was, I did 16 hours refresher, getting myself up to full skills test standard (not just SEP renewal) I also revised all of the subjects up to exam pass standard, especially Air Law as that was the main one to have changed in the interim
