Agreed it is early and maybe unproductive but bear in mind that they are recruiting 100 ish people and will need them all trained and ready to go online for the start of April.
Not counting those doing a full type-rating the first course for TR I believe is the end of Nov so line training Dec and possibly into early Jan depending on the number on the course and the fact it is the low season. This then would give them at least upto end March before the 3 T/O, LDG currency issue. So ultimately not that far from the supposed 1st April really!
