Passenger numbers
So another dip in numbers, 5% Sept 2010 v same time last year. BAA keep saying they see hope, but the headline figure continues to disappoint. The oil & gas industry is said to be in rude health & renewables is coming onto the scene, so is the decrease more leisure-orientated, eg, the collapse of GSM working its way through the system. Or are businesses up here more inclined to "video-conferencing" for example rather than get on a plane nowadays?
Who promotes the region for tourism, should these efforts be stepped up - seems to me the eye has been taken off the ball here compared to elsewhere.
I note edinburgh has benefitted with all those routes launched recently. Should BAA be pulling out the stops to do the same thing at ABZ (in proportion of course!)
Is the potential there at ABZ for the market to turn around & start growing again? I'm beginning to wonder...
