Hi Flightman
This is problem for the whole industry,a type rating with no experience in a jobs market like the one with have just been through, basically no chance of employment, airlines and agencies need pilots with experience and 250-500 hours would at least afford some kind of interest from the recruiters.
Unfortunately pre recession and during this recessionary period many young pilots trained wearing rose tinted glasses expecting a job immediately upon completion of a first type on thier licence.Although the market is improving it will take 12-18 months I feel before things are boyant enough to take guys with zero hours on type.
If I had a rating and no hours I would seriously consider a further investment to get 3-6 months experience flying the type of aircraft that you had qualifications on at least then the agencies would show interest and this would quicken the process to become employed, hopefully the market improves further and you guys become employed.
Good luck
