I'll answer my own question
The Mahan air flights are ideally tailored for the BHX- Amritsar pax and not really Delhi ,unless you want an extended stay in Tehran. I had a look at most BHX-Delhi flight search engines and Armavia are really up against it if that's what they are targeting (AF/EK dominate) I think, to be honest , whenever a new service like this starts they always say you can have connections to here and there when it fact when you look into it more , it's cobblers. I'll stick to my comments above about it just being a U.K. -> Armenia direct link which hopefully will have support from outside the w.midlands region to help it.
