I think you will find that the substance required is properly spelled "vaseline" (with an E on the end of whatever you mean).
I have no dog in this fight but I have an indelible memory of doing a sub-service for Channex back from Guernsey to Bournemouth with flowers many years ago.
I walked into their Ops Room at 0900 to witness the nearest equivalent that I have ever seen (since I had left the RAF some years before) to a "morning prayers" session. PM was in the process of tearing apart a Herald crew who had not done as well as he saw it during the night (with his vast experience on Hunters in the RAF) than he would have done.
I suspect that the crew had more night hours than he had had hot dinners.
I was embarrassed to be there listening to his rantings.
I have to say that I was lucky enough never, ever to have even vaguely considered working for him or his kind.
