Eastern can make money on routes where the passengers are in single figures, the particular issue here was that the dicsount period on charges came to an end and LCY wanted to bump them up to a level that made the route unviable.
Whether the axe fell because revenue failed to materialise for Eastern or LCY were keen to discourage a 29 seater clogging up the apron at peak time I'm not sure.
