i'm not sure of your motivation to go to India to look for work, but the paperwork will be the easiest part of the process.
If you are a Canadian, and plan to be a pilot in Canada, stay in Canada. You have invested the time in Canadian aviation, stick with it.
There are 100's if not over 1000 CPL's in India without jobs. there is very little General Aviation and the last thing they want is more expats coming. There is a ruling in place to have all expats out by June 2011. (I worked there last year, and those 50+ Jet F/O's are all out of work, and have no prospects)
Also, once you get there, there is all sorts of "gratuities" that need to be paid to get the appropriate introductions to get an interview.
Stick it out at home, head up to the NW Territories or try the Caribbean.
