Ryanair

Hi, Kaunas was never released for winter 2010/11 despite other airports such as EDI retaining their flight.

Again I assume like Porto weak winter yields.

Last winter based on 18 sectors except for Feb (16)

Nov 2328 avg 129 pax 68%
Dec 2337 avg 130 pax 69&
Jan 2221 avg 123 pax 65%
Feb 2215 avg 138 pax 73%
Mar 2940 avg 163 pax 86% *Easter

The BHX winter schedules have varied quite a bit since the first release but few flights added or removed just day changes.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday were reasonable using three
out the four based units. Tue/Thu/Sat understandably quieter.

For some reason there were some day swaps to reverse the busy
days. So Monday and Friday are quiet with barely three units required.

A based unit on a Sunday will utilised to Malta in the New Year (it starts as a Malta based unit on a Monday). Two out of three Dublins operate by BHX based units although a daily Dublin based unit is retained.

There are extra flights at Christmas to fill the gaps but still only three
based aircraft required.

An Example for November

Monday

Aircraft 1 - ACE ???
Aircraft 2 - GRO DUB KRK
Aircraft 3 - ???? LDY DUB

Tuesday

Aircraft 1 - TFS BZG
Aircraft 2 - AGP DUB KTW
Aircraft 3 - BTS GDN DUB

The above is classic Ryanair, as KTW and AGP were scheduled originally on Monday & Friday but a stroke of genius they were moved to Tuesday to let the aircraft stand idle on two out of the three most popular days of the week in winter where you have to fight to make money.

I will be generous and assume that Monday and Friday was allocated to another route which turned sour (possibly PRG or PMI although the former that was pulled months ago).

At times it is impossible to work out how FR think.
