As I see it, the simplest method of keeping the pilots in the loop would be a separate algorithim monitoring discrepancies between all AoA sensors on an Error/Time basis. Side slip errors should reasonably be accounted for, and even if you were to get an occasional AoA disagree warning in that situation, you at least get the option of being the judge and jury.
