The A380 will (and does) use 23L for departures when on westerlies and 05R for arrivals when on easterlies even if runway 2 is officially closed.
I have read that its because its easier to get to and from stand 12 (no sharp turns). It departed on 23R on the 1st day of operations which has so far been the only time its done so and even then it departed from JA1, so didn't use the full length
