It always has been a mess and will continue to be so. Have you considered that if the labour laws in a civilized country (ie NOT HK) provide a group of pilots with an improvement in their conditions, this could used to pressure the company to improve the conditions of all pilots?
Your post sounds to me like a feeble try to get a base slot for yourself.
