VB News' thread elsewhere on PPRuNe) certainly puts forward a strong argument for the A330 - for reasons that (a) Borghetti is a fan of the aeroplane from his time at The Rat, & (b) frames are readily available right now, courtesy of a lease deal from Emirates.
Of course, as is always the case, believe it when you see whatever it is parked at the gate.
