I recall that story. Quentin Fogarty use to be with channel 9 Melbourne but may have served with another network at that time. They were up in a hercules. When that footage was examined one frame contained a very squiggly pattern that suggested it was impossible for camera shake to create an image for such a short duration, if my memory serves me correctly.
