Agree with you not all in the DREAM TEAM are the DREAM TEAM. Rejects or not is a different matter. People come and go. Make mistakes (hopefully learns from them!) and move on. Some get disappointed and also move on etc etc etc. What I'm trying to say here is it doesn't mean by returning from the sandpit means you are a reject. So many pilots/engineers/bankers/teachers etc move about in this challenging world every now and then. All of them have their own reasons. To brand others as such is inappropriate.
