Excellent news that the MPs have to use a similar system. It's not just the military being messed about the pay system. Try using SAP from IBM which has been forced on a couple of councils in the southwest and a constabulary covering Avon and Somerset. Sound familiar....

FRUSTRATED police officers say they are wasting hours every day battling with a "nightmare" computer system just to get paid, when they should be out on Bristol's streets catching criminals.

Concerned bobbies in Avon and Somerset Constabulary are convinced IBM's SAP system, introduced as part of Southwest One, is "not fit for purpose".

Southwest One involved computer giant IBM taking over information technology, finance and much of the administration of the police force, Somerset County Council and Taunton Deane Borough Council.

It was expected to streamline the way the police force operates and save millions of pounds.
