Thank you for your response and in your defence I can recall being told about problems when the first few cadets came through the system.

This was actually a result of them being told that they were the best and that they should have no fear in questioning anything that the capt says/does. This was about the same time as CRM was coming to the fore aswell, there were problems with the early interpretation and application of CRM. As I understand it the schools, prompted by mgmt, were to train the cadets not to revert to child mode and blindly follow orders by "some crusty old capt" that would lead them into danger. Unfortunately as you say some of them misunderstood and the result was a far from happy cockpit. The cadets with "attitude" problems were called into the office and the issues addressed.

I would have prefered to use the term "f*****g w*****S" as oppossed to Hitler Youth - but then again I can see it being funny in the situation - think you caught me in one of my sensitive spells!

I would like to think that it has all changed now especially as I am a more recent cadet who has started flying with some of the ex prestwick guys who are getting their first commands.
