31 May 2010, 1325 hrs ISTIn a major air scare for passengers on board Dubai-Pune Air India Express flight, the flight reportedly plunged over 6,000 feet into direct path of another plane on Monday (May 31).
Sources said that the plunge took place due to air turbulence. The ATC reportedly noticed the drop taken by the plane and asked the AI Express to climb to 37,000 feet to avoid collision.
According to sources, two pilots and four cabin crew members were derostered after the incident.
The incident reportedly took over Muscat airspace, one hour after the flight took off from Dubai.
This air tragedy aversion comes just couple of weeks after an Air India Express flight IX 812 crashed after it overshot the runway in Mangalore killing 158 people.
