Not normal but does happen. I waited about three months after training on their aircraft before starting as contract they had got kept getting pushed back for various reasons. Talk to the guy and ask what the problem is. Are you getting paid? If not ask for a retainer, just a token amount really eg couple hundred pounds a month. Did they pay for your rating already? If so don't worry. Did you pay for your rating?
