Ryanair aircraft have been parked up all over the shop this winter and spring, no doubt flat out over the Summer and hence the move to apply a bagagge surcharge in July & August. I have heard that they may park 70 aircraft this winter, with most new crews on pay by the hour it makes business sense, whats the point in making a profit over the summer to throw it away in winter?
The move over the last two years to a more bucket and spade operation on many UK routes will have driven this.
What comes next for FR? i doubt they can drive pilot cost down much further but the product does seem to be getting better 60-70 m seats sold prove that!! I think the toilet talk is just that!
It does what is says on the tin, fly cheaper which if you just want to fly from A-B and book well in advance they are cheaper.
