As per the WPC Circular,
Issue of RTR (Conversion) and RTR (Permit) and their renewals shall be for a period of 20 years, or till the validity of FRTOL / CPL which ever is earlier
A smart move indeed. Since no CPL is going to be valid more than 5 years. So the RTR will be up for renewal every 5 years. But the diplomatic clause offers 20 years.
Although a certain relief for RTR (A) holders.
