Experienced jet pilots and high time Turbo-prop Captains resign from secure jobs to go to VA
and take a (significant) pay cut, with no prospect of advancement!
QF pilots now at the top of the local pyramid, also resign and take a pay cut, head for lower T&C's, Some paying for the privilige, presumably because "COMMAND" may be brought forward a few years? Not that long ago an "apprenticeship" at QF was accepted as a good high paying career!
Before he eventually moved to the RHS, a friend of mine was an S/O on the 747 Classic for 5 years, earning approx $140K P/A. Not the highest paid S/O in QF, but certainly not the hardest worked either!
Has the World gone mad? Or are Australian pilots as gullible and impatient as airline managers give them credit for?
