Hi Nick,
The one thing you must do is enter your location coordinates, but these can be found quite easily on Streetmap etc.
Then once registered as a first step you just click on the OSM button on the top toolbar, that will produce a map of your area.
You must also make some simple adjustments to the program settings.
It would be a good idea to read the help files, but if there's anything you need to know either join the Yahoo group and ask(they don't bite)
