I assume you mean Planeplotter
If you look on the website, it directs you here planeplotter / FrontPage for help and advice. Try looking there, and the Yahoo group (link on main Planeplotter website). It doesn't appear to need anything else other than an internet connection to work however

Ok thanks for that I will try again, I am the kind of person that needs a step by step guide with these things but it seems to leave the user to there own devices.

Hi Nick,
I think you will find that the 21 day trial only applies to those with SBS or Radarbox etc.
If you are download only, you will need to register and pay for Planeplotter first.
If you need any help, just look at the Planeplotter forum, it may seem complicated at first, but it's worth sticking with it,
It's a great piece of kit for the money.

I see Gaz, pity they dont make that clear, shame I bet lots of potential customers just give up,
So you reckon to be able to see any flight data and seeing that I dont have an SBS ect I need to pay, not a problem but I would be nice to be able to check it out first.

I downloaded PP a year ago faced with the same 'problem' and gave up. A year later I've just bitten the bullet and paid for it, I'm very pleased with the program, especially the Multilateration function allowing you to 'see' some non ADS-B equipped aircraft.

Hi Speedbird so are you saying you have now paid your dosh and the prog works right away no fuss, where as before you could not get any info at all out of it like me at the moment,
I would not mind paying if I thought it would work like that for me as I was toying with getting one of those SBS gadgets but find it had to justify for the time I work use it.

There are 2 payments. The first allows a lifetime license of PP allowing observation of ADS-B equiped aircraft. You can then sign up for a 21 day trial allowing observation of aircraft which have had successful MLAT requests made, this is basically a form of triangulation of aircraft that wouldn't normally be seen , i.e. Flybe and Eastern Airways flights for instance. Once the trial expires you can then pay around GBP10 per year to see these MLAT requests and I think you can also make your own MLAT requests, although not 100% sure about this. If you haven't already checked it out, have a read of the COAA PP home page : PlanePlotter from COAA and sign up to the forum : planeplotter : PlanePlotter
I do own an SBS1 and have never regretted the decision, it's an amazing piece of kit ;-)
At the end of the day, pay your money as you wont be dissapointed
Hope this helps

Hi Nick,
The one thing you must do is enter your location coordinates, but these can be found quite easily on Streetmap etc.
Then once registered as a first step you just click on the OSM button on the top toolbar, that will produce a map of your area.
You must also make some simple adjustments to the program settings.
It would be a good idea to read the help files, but if there's anything you need to know either join the Yahoo group and ask(they don't bite) or pm me and I will try to help.
PP was my best buy in a long time and it just keeps getting better.

Mlat
Hi Speedy,
Just checked and once you become a "Master User" you can request an Mlat.
You did know that if you become a Groundstation and share data, there is no charge for Mlat.
