No second chance at easyJet - the door slams shut.
The following is doing the rounds from the Orange Order:-
>>Hi Guys,
I am writing to confirm that we have reached a decision concerning our recruitment reassessment policy. The following has been decided and agreed by the management and the pilot recruitment team:
We have decided that we will not reassess candidates who have failed any part of our 48 hour recruitment process. After much discussion we came to the decision that we have faith in the assessment process and therefore there should be no need to reassess. Furthermore we want people to feel proud that they have been successful at our assessment process and giving people a second chance at the process devalues it.
Regarding candidates who have turned us down in the past, it has been decided that they will not be reassessed. We do not want to encourage people to see easyJet as an "open option" for the future or a "contingency plan" if all else fails. We want people who are committed to working for easyJet and see us as a viable option from the outset.
I'm sorry its not better news but thank you for your time and for the interest which you showed in easyJet.
Regards,
Laure Van Rensburg

The arrogance of this is breathtaking. I was offered a position a while ago but had to turn them down for family reasons. I liked the company but wasn't going to re-apply. The receipt of such unsolicited mail is not pleasant. Why cannot they just reject those they don't want to employ? Far more discreet and mature.
I can only assume that the merger with Go has created a surplus of pilots. It would, nonetheless, behove this company to conduct themselves with a bit more tact and savvy with regard to future pilot markets.
Make friends with pilots because pride comes before a fall.
