I think you will find that the bad economical climate is world wide including Africa as it is part of this planet, you can join the long queue of pilots in Maun if you wish or there are similar queues of newby pilots all around the world waiting for that hard to bag first job. Also remember there are thousands of experienced pilots with thousands of hours also out of work in front of you.
If I was you I would get any job going and sit tight for an improvement before going off to Africa or any other location as waiting for months is really expensive when you are not entitled to work.
