As far as the company is concerned we are over-crewed - hence why a certain Leeds based pilot just left without serving a full three months notice period. I also recently asked SM how quickly I could leave if I resigned and was told that "at the moment, notice periods can be reduced because we are over-crewed".
We are all aware that in reality the figures the company have set for crewing levels are absolute rubbish, but don't expect uncle Bill to suddenly employ more people just because we are all working max hours. Try to remember that sCrewing see CAA hour limits as a target rather than as a maximum and expect another summer of discontent, just how it was in 2006!
Having been on duty for over 55hrs in the last 7 days I'm very aware that there are not enough pilots flying the line.
